Ann Arbor District Library


Downtown Library, 343 S. Fifth Ave. 327–4200. Circulates a variety of materials for all ages, including books at various reading levels and in many languages, CDs, DVDs, periodicals, and art prints to all library cardholders. Services include wireless Internet access, print and electronic resources, computer and Internet classes, public meeting spaces available for rent at no charge to library cardholders, and many events and exhibits for youth, teens, adults and families. Hours of all AADL locations: Mon. 10 am–9 pm, Tues.–Fri. 9 am–9pm, Sat. 9 am–6 pm, Sun. noon–6 pm. www.aadl.org AADL Branch Libraries: The branches—Malletts Creek, 3090 E. Eisenhower; Pittsfield, 2359 Oak Valley; Traverwood, 3333 Traverwood Dr.; and West, 2503 Jackson (Westgate Shopping Center)—offer leisure reading, reference, and audiovisual materials for adults and children. Computer classes and events are offered at most branch locations. Circulating material from the downtown library can be sent to any of the branches (and vice versa).

Features more than 68,000 print books, 16,000 Ebooks, 400 print journals, and media items like videos, DVDs, music CDs, and CD-Roms. Diverse electronic collections, a browsing book collection, and easy reading books for adults with low reading levels and international students. Washtenaw County Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled

Free library service for those in Washtenaw, Jackson, and Livingston counties unable to read standard-print materials as a result of a physical disability. Audio book, large-print materials, descriptive videos, and playback equipment are mailed free through the United States Postal Service, no postage required. Reader advisor and reference service offered. Adaptive technology and free training available by appointment at the library's Technology Training Center and Resource Display Area. Bi-monthly Book Lovers Club and other programs offered regularly. Resource Guide: Services and Products for the Visually Impaired is available online and in large print. Contains over 124,000 titles and over 45 databases available for general public use. Books may be used in-house (cannot be checked out without a library card), guests can use computers, Internet, and databases.
