Free income tax assistance for those who cannot pay for tax preparation. Trained volunteers will prepare simple tax returns and e-file them for low-income, elderly and disabled taxpayers. Appointments start each hour from noon to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Preregistration encouraged. A few walk-in slots also available. To register, and find out what documents to bring, call (734) 794-6250. SafeHouse Center has a rich history of providing exemplary services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Washtenaw County, and are in the forefront of efforts to create a violence-free society. We cannot do this important work without the support of community members. We invite you to join us.SafeHouse Center has four volutneer programs in which you can work with survivors or their children. They are the Children and Youth program, Shelter/Helpine Program, Sexual Assault Response Team and Domestic Violence Response Team.To participate in one of these programs, we require the completion of a 40-hour training, and a six-month commitment to volunteering at SafeHouse Center.
