Roots-rock band led by Alvin, cofounder of the Blasters and later a member of the seminal L.A. punk band X. His songs are known for their seamless blend of blues, rockabilly, honky-tonk, and gospel strains, and for their vivid vernacular portraits of the inner lives and outer conditions of ordinary people.
