(6:15-8:30 p.m.) 6-piece band led by guitarist Randy Tessier and featuring vocalist Sophia Hanifi. Their repertoire is an eclectic mix of originals by Hanifi and Tessier and covers of everyone from the Everly Brothers, the Kinks, and the Yardbirds to Miles Davis, Steve Earle, and U2. The band's 4-song minidisk Clean House includes 2 originals, a cover of Stephen Stills's 1967 protest classic "For What It's Worth," and an original setting of Auden's 1939 poem "Refugee Song."

July 4: "Plastic Passion"

DJ retro dance party with an eclectic mix of everything from New Wave, Britpop, and postpunk to acid house, goth rock, and industrial.

July 9: Duende!

Detroit psychedelic Americana band. Opening act TBA.

July 10: Steve Newhouse & the Nuke-a-billies

July 24: Orange Door Hinge

(6:15-8:30 p.m.) Local big band led by saxophonist and II-V-I Orchestra frontman David Swain that plays an eclectic mix of everything from funk and disco to Steely Dan and TV cop show themes.

July 25: "Arbco Records Summer Formal."

Punk rock party headlined by the Detroit punk-surf garage band Amino Acids. Opening acts are the local crunk-metal trio Texas Prison Rodeo, the local punk band Suicide by Cop (formerly known as Dead Reagan), and the Coldwater hardcore band The Citizen's Plague. DJs Jef Porkins and Nate Pancakes spin punk records between sets.

July 31: Drivin' Sideways.

(6:15-8:30 p.m.) Veteran local band fueled by Pontiac Pete Ferguson's alternately soulful and ornery vocals. Their country-based repertoire still features lots of classic honky-tonk, but they also cover everyone from Chuck Berry and Johnny Burnette to the Beatles and James Brown. The band's guiding presence seems to be Elvis--including both large chunks of his repertoire and his attitude that any music he did suited him just because he did it. The band also includes guitarist George Bedard, bassist Chris Goerke, drummer Mark Newbound, and keyboardist Jim King.
