Between the Kerrytown Concert House and the University Musical Society, an energized Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra and dozens of smaller ensembles, Ann Arbor's classical music calendar has an opus for every taste. This category also includes choral music and a cappella groups.

Summer Organ Series: St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Every Mon. A series of concerts by area organists. Aug. 6: First United Methodist Church organist Naki Kripfgans performs works by Bach, Takeshi Kondo, and Henri Mulet. Aug. 13: David Banas, Keilor Kastella, Monte Thomas, and Stephanie Yu —all students of U-M organ professor James Kibbie—perform works by Bach, Buxtehude, Mushel, and Tournemire. Aug. 20: Shin-Ae Chun. Aug. 27: St. Francis organist Ted Emch performs works by Couperin, Langlais, Bach, and Sousa, as well as an improvisation based on a submitted theme. .

Shlomo Carlebach Friday Night Service: Beth Israel Congregation.
On this night Beth IsraelCongregation - Ann Arbor offers a Friday night service based on the music composed by Shlomo Carlebach. This lay led, one hour and ten minute service in Hebrew is traditional in feel, with many lively and soulful tunes. Singing out and harmonizing are welcomed and encouraged. Beth Israel invites anyone likes this kind of music to join us. The event is preceded with hors d'ouevres at 6:00 p.m., and followed by Good Humor bars,cones, icecream sandwiches and fruit bars.
