This class is designed for beginners and low intermediate players who wish to improve their declarer and defensive play. The class will run with students shuffling, dealing and playing 7-9 hands per session. Hands will be analyzed after completion to review the bidding, play and defense. Instructor will guide declarer on each hand as to the best plan and strategy to succeed. No book needed. Students may either pay for all 10 weeks at the start or pay as they go using the drop-in fee. It is highly recommended that students have some type of previous bidding class or experience. For more details, contact instructor Ray Gentz or the Ann Arbor Senior Center. Every Mon. (except May 13 & 20), Apr. 8-June. 7. Yoga For Mamas is a hatha postnatal and prenatal yoga class honoring mothers and babies during the childbearing year. Practicing yoga during this time can help to relax the mind, strengthen the body, alleviate discomfort and support the growing bond between a mother and her baby. Gentle yoga poses combined with breath are taught to bring awareness to the changes in the body that occur during pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period. Class is held in a warm, supportive space with an emphasis on celebrating the journey to mothering! Prenatal mamas and mamas and babies 12 months and younger are welcome. This class is designed for beginners and low intermediate players who wish to improve declarer skills. The main part of the course deals with play of the hand as declarer. Other parts include bidding reviews, defense, and more. The class will run with lecture and discussion from the text for the first 90 minutes. Students will then play hands for the last 30 minutes. The text may be purchased online or ordered from your local bookstore. Students must register in advance and pre-pay or pay at the first class for all 10 weeks. A baby class that you can attend with your baby! This is an 8-week baby class covering everything from feeding, to changes in your relationship with your partner, to fun things to do with your new baby. The class is geared towards parents of 2-6 month old children who are looking for some further information on popular new-parent topics. The class is also meant to facilitate a “mom’s group” type setting to help new parents meet others for support and friendship. This 7-week yoga series is designed to reduce the emotional and physical stress and discomfort associated with chronic pain conditions. This is a gentle, slow moving class; appropriate for beginners and those interested in increasing vitality and immunity while developing self-healing practices. Seated mostly on the floor and utilizing bolsters and props, slow intrinsic movements promote healing and offer the opportunity to relax deeply and completely. Our small class size allows for individualized instruction in a warm and supportive environment.
