“In Progress”: Creative Rights.
Sept. 14 & 15 (different programs). More than 40 Ann Arbor and Detroit-area artists showcase their works-in-progress, including dancers, playwrights, metal smiths, installation artists, painters, musicians, and more. The audience can explore the gallery space and talk to the artists about their creative process.
Sept. 14: A benefit reception celebrating the 1st public show of Creative Rights, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing free legal services, educational programs, and coordination of professional support services to the creative community. With a string quartet, a live jazz band, and a variety of other performances. Cocktail attire.
Sept. 15: A series of extended performances, including dance, performance art, and excerpts from original plays, along with music by several local bands and singer-songwriters, including the indie pop band Hush, Love, indie rock singer-songwriter Deastro, acoustic singer-songwriter Ivan Grass, the heavy rock band Portsman, and Irish bouzouki player Douglaslaneallen.
