Aug. 10 & 11. Festivities in Monument Park include arts and crafts booths (9 a.m.-8 p.m.), a social tent (11 a.m.-11 p.m.), specialty food booths, musical entertainment (11 a.m.-11 p.m.), merchant sidewalk sales, and yard sales around town. Aug. 10: Tours of the Dexter Area Historical Museum (1-3 p.m.) and an American Legion steak fry (4:30–8 p.m.). Entertainment: ventriloquist Richard Paul (11 a.m.-noon), children’s musician Kevin Drake (12:30-2 p.m.), Colors the Clown (2-3 p.m.), a local Sweet Adelines chorus (3:30-5 p.m.), the country band Spur 9 (5:30-7:30 p.m.), and the Laith All-Saadi Trio (8-11 p.m.), a versatile Ann Arbor jazz, blues, R&B, Motown, and pop band. Aug. 11: A parade from Wylie School down Main Street at 10 a.m., a car show (8 a.m.-7 p.m.), Dexter District Library used book sale (9 a.m.-3 p.m.), a chicken barbecue at St. James Church (11:30 a.m. until it’s gone), Gordon Hall tours (noon-4 p.m.), a horseshoe tournament at Second Street Park (1-5 p.m.), pole vaulting at the American Legion (1-7 p.m.), and raffles. Entertainment: Colors the Clown (11:30 a.m.-noon), magician Jeff Wawrzaszek (12:30-1:30 p.m.), the Dexter High rock band Orchid (2-3 p.m.), the Dexter Community Orchestra (3:30-5 p.m.), the Ann Arbor bluegrass band RFD Boys (5:30-7 p.m.), and the Bugs Beddow Band (8-11 p.m.), a versatile horn-driven Detroit R&B, boogie-rock, blues, and jazz ensemble.
