For many, the highlight of this year's musical season in Ann Arbor was the University Musical Society's presentation of Philip Glass's Einstein on the Beach, the last century's most radical rethinking of the opera genre. Many lectures accompanied the event, among them one by Stephen Rush entitled "Post-Modern Opera: Welcome to the 21st Century." Rush
