So Long, Cowboy Hat

Arby's on Washtenaw is gone

by Sally Mitani

posted 9/7/2012

The Arby's on Washtenaw near Platt closed, too. It was most famous for its outsize cowboy hat, grandfathered in from a more libertarian era in signage, when the government didn't get between a corporation and its taste in enormous, view-blocking self-promotion. The sign is gone now. Sadly the communications manager at Arby's, Katie Hardy, couldn't find out what happens to old Arby's signs.    (end of article)
