Hommus Express bets on snappy service

Said Namari owns several Subway and Domino's franchises in the Detroit area, but Hommus Express is his first Middle Eastern restaurant. Namari, who's Palestinian, bought the former La Pita Fresh from Kasey Chammout in May. Chammout, who'd been in business for a little over a year, had let it be known that he was less than thrilled with the foot traffic on that block of East Liberty since Borders closed last fall.
